This morning Jody's sister called and told us that Jody's grandmother passed away.
We were very sad to hear it. Grandmother was a very special lady! She was 95 years old and I'm SURE if she could have told us, she would have assured us she was ready to be with Jesus. She loved Jesus more than just about anyone I have ever known. She was so kind and proper. (Hence the fact that she was called Grandmother). When Jody was younger and his mom was working, Grandmother would pick Jody up from the bus stop and take him home. They would play and play. She would make dinner for the family. She loved serving them.
Then, the same year I started dating Jody, Grandmother moved in with Jody's parents. She didn't drive anymore and just needed to have help close by. As the years progressed, Jody's mom faithfully cared for Grandmother. Grandmother was SO grateful. Jody remained close to her all these years. She was SO proud that he was a minister, like her husband!!
Then last year, when Jody's mom fractured her back, they had to put Grandmother in the nursing home. It was a hard decision, but one that had to be made. Grandmother was requiring 24 hour care. She died in the nursing home early this morning. Jody's mom had visited with her just yesterday.
Jody left with Hattie this morning to be with the family in Georgia. I can't travel, so I stayed with the boys. We are sleeping at my parents house, just in case! But I am really hoping and praying labor DOESN'T start while Jody is gone. The funeral is on Sunday.

Emily,
I just got off the phone with Jody and told him I am praying for everyone during this time. You are right. His Grandmother was a big part of his life and in the times I was around her you could always see the love she had for Jody and the rest of them. She was a great lady who I know many will miss.
Anyway, I am also praying for you during this time. I hope and pray all goes well when you have your baby. All of your children are lucky to have you and Jody in their lives. Take care!
Andy
Keep yourself on bedrest until he gets home! I don't want you to have to go through all of that without him and I would feel just terrible for him if he missed it.
Sorry to hear about the loss. You are in our Prayers.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. What wonderful memories you and Jody have! I would have loved to know such a sweet, godly woman. All of you will be in my thoughts and prayers during this time. I'm glad you can stay with your parents while Jody is gone. Hugs!
I'm so sorry to hear that. We will pray that you don't go into labor...yet=)
I'm sorry for your and Jody's loss. It sounds like she was indeed ready to meet her Creator. What a glorious thing. I hope you are all well.
