An Old Hymn

While visiting Jody's family in Georgia this past weekend we sang this old hymn at Westview Baptist Church in Hawkinsville. I've been thinking about the words and its seems very fitting for the job of a mom. Here's some of the words:

Little is much when God is in it!
Labor not for wealth or fame.
There’s a crown—and you can win it,
If you go in Jesus’ Name.

In the mad rush of the broad way,
In the hurry and the strife,
Tell of Jesus’ love and mercy,
Give to them the Word of Life.

Refrain

Does the place you’re called to labor
Seem too small and little known?
It is great if God is in it,
And He’ll not forget His own.

The song you quote is by Kittie Suffield. she also wrote "God Is Still on the Throne"--another great reminder for us. Mrs. Suffield's other claim to fame is that she and her husband encouraged a Canadian teen-ager named George Beverly Shea to use his voice to serve the Lord.
