CVS

I'm really trying this CVS thing. I see all these other gals (by following them on different blogs) getting these amazing deals for very little "OOP" (out of pocket). You get ECB's and roll them over and collect more. You have to keep up with the receipts and coupons they give you.

But I've been doing that and STILL not gotten the hang of it.

The last 2 times I went (today and a little more than a week ago) I was overcharged. That's annoying. Of course I go back, I mean the point is to save money not spend more than advertised.

I always come out with way more OOP than I would like. I do get good deals, but I want the trips where I only spend a few dollars.

I'm not totally discouraged, but I spent all my ECBs today, I didn't get any, they were out of stock on the 2 items I was planning on collecting from. I may just give it a break until after the baby is born. I mean it takes A LOT of brain power, coupon preparation and concentration. PLUS I had Hattie and Luke with me and they were such little (loud) beggars today.

Needless to say, I was pooped when we finally got home!

Maybe I'll go back for the 50% halloween stuff. Like I need more candy.

It took me forever to get the hang of it too, but stick with it! I found out that I am only going to get things that give me ECB's in return and if they are out of what I'm going for then just skip that week because you are right, you'll end up paying a butt-load more at CVS regular priced items than just waiting and going to wal-mart or target! It is awful going with the kids...I cannot think straight when Areyna wants to hand all the coupons to the cashier or when Zeke puts other things in the cart. It totally messes me up=) Anyway, you'll get the hang of it!

Oh man! I can't even remember to give the cashier my coupons let alone all of this other stuff. I'd be a basket case before I got out of the store...........oh wait, I already was a basket case upon entering the store! LOL!

It must be very satisfying to spend hours and hours to save a few dollars! Way to go! I hope you are able to spend more hours and hours to figure this one out too!

Ok...to the anonymous comment:
1. Remaining anonymous is really kind of rude. But I guess if you are already being rude, that's what you are going for.
2. When you need to save a few dollars wherever you can, it is worth your time. However...it really is more than a few dollars. At Publix yesterday I saved over 30% on my entire bill. And at CVS I saved more than that. I just know I can save MORE than that.
3. But it has never taken me hours and hours. Did I say that? If I did, I'll blame it on my proneness to exaggerate and being pregnant.

I don't know Emily, I think that spending time to save your family money sounds a lot like a Proverbs 31 virtue! Maybe verses 13-18! Way to go you wife of noble character!

Can't wait to see pics of that new little one! We're praying for a smooth delivery and a healthy baby!

Hello There,

This is the first time here. I found you on Tasha's site. I never did make it with CVS if that makes you feel any better. :)

I have a hard time with anything here in Charlotte with CVS except they do have a nice selection of $1.00 cards. I do better with plain 'ole paper coupons from the newspaper. My neighbor really takes it seriously and is in a coupon club. I don't cut many but Harris Teeter had triple coupons this past Thurs-Sunday and it cost $64 for $164 of groceries. Saving money is great! and I'm surprised that I can get the same "rush" saving money as I get spending it. People who are critical don't know what they are missing... until they get their credit card bill. : ) Teresa Bridwell
