2 things

So I have 2 things that I wanted to blog about today. I would post-pone one, but knowing me, I wouldn't be able to remember what the other one was by tomorrow.

I was reading PARENTS magazine this morning and I found a $5 coupon when you order diapers online. The prices are a little cheaper than getting them from the store and its free shipping when your order is over $50. So, I ordered. Then they said that if I would refer people, they not only got the first time order of $5 off, but I would get $1 for each order that put my refferal (sp??) down. If you do order, go here and put in EMJEN when it asks for an REF.

The second thing is a recipe I tried tonight for dinner. It was great. My friend Megan had given me some refrigerated pie crust recently and I don't really make pies. When I saw this recipe called for refrigerated pie crust, I had to give it a try. I added a few of my own improvements.

Cheeseburger-and-fries Pies
-Fries (the recipe calls for 2 - 4.25 oz micro fries. I didn't have those, I just cut up 4 small potatoes and baked them in the oven for about 20 minutes with a little salt and olive oil)
-1 T of veg oil
-1 small onion diced
-1+ tsp of minced garlic
-1/2 lb lean gr beef
-1/2 tsp salt
-1/2 ketchup
-1/4 c chicken (or beef) broth
-2 pie crusts (one package has 2)
-2 T of chopped pickles
-8 slices of cheddar or american cheese

Heat oven to 400. Prepare fries, cut into bite size pieces. Heat oil in pan and sautee onions and garlic. Add meat and salt. Breaking the meat up as it cooks. Stir in ketchup and broth, cook 3 minutes. Stir in fries and cool about 5 min. Roll out pie crust and cut each one into 4 pieces. Spoon filling into each section, add pickles and cheese, pinch up the sides. Bake on a baking sheet 15-20 min.

Anyways, my picky kids LOVED it and so did Jody.

I just want to say that your daily counter thingy doesn't seem to recognize that I am on your blog. The past three days it has not recorded my visit. I really don't care if it shows it, I just wanted you to know that I have been there!!

Hey, that little neocounter thing is pretty cool! I may have to have you teach me how to blog just so I can put that daily counter on it! :-)
