The Cat is out of the Box

I know its really the BAG. But one time we were giving a cat to this lady in Uganda. Our friend Gordon was going to that lady's town so he and I put the cat in this box and wrapped it with a towel and some string. The cat did fine the whole 6 hour trip on public transport. But as soon as Gordon reached his destination, the cat got out of the box and ran up a tree, never to be seen again.

Back to what is out of the box...

We are moving to South Carolina. Whew! Here's the whole deal...

After much a prayer and a lot of consideration, Jody has accepted a job as Baptist Student Union Director at our alma mater, North Greenville University. It was a difficult decision for us. We love it here in Bismarck. We have made some WONDERFUL friends, our church is growing, and we have an awesome house...among other things. But we have a peace about making this change and we are very excited about it.

We told our church and they were very supportive. After 10 days online, our house sold. Our friend Ryan will transition into the lead pastor roll at Dakota Hills. We will be much closer to our families. A house is ready for us to rent right off campus. Its amazing how God is working out the details and confirming our decision.

We LOVE college students so much. We are looking forward to living life with these guys, going on mission trips, ministering along side them and discipling them.

The kids are very sad to leave their friends and school and the house. But they know we are going to see DD and Pa and Mawmaw and Poppop more often. Silas has already asked me if he can invite all his Bismarck friends to his birthday NEXT year. Hattie cried when we told her that we are selling the van. Luke is clueless.

Jody will start at NGU April 1. We are planning to close on the house March 19th and leave town on the 20th. I am flying with Hattie and Luke. Jody and Silas are coming in the moving truck.

Anyways. It became official at North Greenville today, and I was glad because I've been wanting to blog about it for several weeks now.

Now, I need to start packing.

Emily, sorry if I caused any problems when I asked when/where you were moving in a previous post. I saw it on Stacy's blog, so even though you hadn't blogged about it(that should've been my clue!)I didn't think about it not being public knowledge yet.
Well, happy packing & moving. It is always amazing to me to see God's hand in things like that & know that HE is so in control even when we may not feel like it. Most times for me it is usually after the fact I can look back & see God's hand in these things.(you know that whole hind sight is 20/20?)
I will pray that things will continue to go smoothly & that Satan will not try to foil any plans. In fact I bind him up in the name of Jesus right now. :)
God Bless, -Gail

Congrats on coming back to NGU. I guess it was very appropriate for me to ask y'all questions about the Joyful Sound reunion for the NGU magazine story. At that time, I had no idea you would be over it in a few months.

Oh my goodness! I can't beleive it! I've enjoyed having a Northern friend to gripe about the cold and the snow with! I always hoped that we could visit each other since we're relatively close... Anyway, I will be praying for you guys as you go through the packing, cleaning, moving process. Praise God that your house is already sold! That is such a relief to not worry about that anymore.

Man, if I had only known it wasn't "official" all the way around, I would have starting trying to sabotage the whole operation!

I forgot to say - that little story about the poor cat made me laugh out loud! So funny!

Oh, and thanks for the link to my blog! You're the best! :-) Now I can navigate between all my friend's blogs with no interruption!

Emily and Jody, the kids at NGU will be so blessed by both of you and your family. I know it was tough for you to make this decision, but I hope you seeing how God is opening doors such as selling your house quickly means it's the right one too.

On a selfish note, it will be nice to know that you are closer so that Heather and I can take a road trip sometime.

All of you are in our prayers. Please let us know is we can do anything for you.

That is so fantastic! You don't know me, but I am an NGU alum who took some ed. classes with Holly. My husband Tim is also an NGU alum and he works at NGU now as their network administrator. NGU is lucky to have you guys! :)

That reminds me of how I met your dad for the first time. He was working at the Univ. of Miami Baptist Student Union. I was going to Barry Univ. and he led a bible study there. I attended a couple meetings at the UM BSU and then I went to a Christmas party at your parents' house. That was 1983. Joy was just a baby but I remember meeting you and your sisters that night too. Hope all goes well with your move. Congratulations!
